Studio XII began as a professional lettering design studio run by Lieve Cornil.

When her professor and mentor Bernard Arin retired as the Director of the famous Scriptorium de Toulouse, she decided to find a way to keep this unique programme alive. For the 38 years of its existence, the Scriptorium provided a worthy and solid education in the graphic  and lettering arts.

With the full support of her mentor, she brought the programme to Studio XII, keeping the basic structure but also adding her own vision of lettering and its related fields, based upon her own professional experience.

The lettering programme at Studio XII is a privately run course, giving the staff and students freedom to adjust the programme in response to a very demanding market.

It's all about exchange. Exchange between people, cultures, images and ideas. That's why the Studio is opening its doors to everyone interested in the lettering arts. Working with others will allow students to discover new ways of working and thinking about design in general.
